Vermont midwives are planning to lobby lawmakers in support of a bill that would guarantee insurance reimbursement for home births as part of maternity care coverage.
Backed by the Vermont Public Interest Research Group and the National Women’s Law Center, the midwives will launch a "Labor of Love" campaign at a Statehouse news conference set for 12:15 this afternoon in Montpelier.
VPIRG says the group will release a collection of home birth stories and announce upcoming events planned in support of the campaign.
