Middlebury College freshman Nick Garza disappeared one winter night more than two years ago after attending a party. The search that followed involved students, volunteers and police. After months of searching, Garza’s body was found in Otter Creek, ending a harrowing period of uncertainty.
Gary Margolis is executive director of College Mental Health Services at Middlebury College. He’s also a poet, and he revisits those anxiety-ridden months in a new collection of poems titled Below the Falls.
He speaks with VPR’s Peter Biello about his new book.
