Celebrity political endorsers continue to urge Vermonters to vote for candidates they support; communities large and small win Smart Growth award from the Vermont Forum on Sprawl; with no election campaign to worry about, Vermont Senator Jim Jeffords is using his last weeks in Congress to remind his colleagues to pay attention to the issues he has championed over the decades; the Vermont Yankee plant sent a shipment of equipment to Pennsylvania last week that was found to be giving off more the four times the allowable level of radiation when it arrived. the Vermont Forum on Sprawl has begin to recognize towns that engage in smart growth development practices, and last night it handed out its first smart growth awards.
