Winning candidates in yesterday’s primary elections now refocus their attention on the big prize, the general election on November seventh; over the Labor Day weekend the Vermont State police, using some Federal funds and co-operating local police forces, ran a series of checkpoints as a part of their long-term effort to clamp down on alcohol-related crashes and fatalities; a University of New Hampshire professor says New England’s winters have gotten noticeably warmer over the past three decades.
