The Public Service Board says Verizon has been too slow to provide high speed internet service to Vermonters; there will be more discussion tonight on the Bellows Falls hydro dam; Vermont’s Agency of Natural Resources will hold an informational session tonight in Middlebury on the proposal by International Paper to burn fuel made from tires at its mill in Ticonderoga, New York; officials are expecting a big turnout and strong opinions at an informational hearing in Rockingham tonight on whether the town should buy the Bellows Falls Hydro Dam; two Vermont fishermen have something unusual on video tape; according to Yankee Magazine, there’s a village in New England that surpasses all others in its beauty, and it’s Peacham, Vermont; the Bread Loaf Writers Conference is underway in Ripton through August 27th. Lectures and readings are open to the public. The next one is today at four-fifteen with Louise Gluck and Francine Prose.
