Mesa International, a New Hampshire-based designer and distributor of dishware and home decor, is closing its retail stores in New Hampshire and Vermont.

The company, based in Warner, said it will focus on wholesale distribution instead.

Chief Executive Officer Craig Stevens said sales have decreased over the past few years at company’s New Hampshire stores in New London and Tilton and its Vermont stores in Quechee and Waterbury.

He said the company’s core business is designing, importing and selling home decor and tabletop products to national chain stores.

The New London and Quechee stores will close next Sunday. The Tilton and Waterbury stores will stay open until March.
