Senators Dick Sears, Jeanette White and Hinda Miller have sponsored a bill that would create two medical marijuana dispensaries in the state. Currently, there are 344 Vermonters on the marijuana registry that was created under a 2004 law.

If the current bill is approved, the Department of Public Safety would be charged with the oversight of these outlets. Commissioner Keith Flynn says his department could support this if it is engaged in the rule making.
