The Vermont Medical Examiner’s Office and state forensics laboratory are expected to be working today to identify remains found during the holiday weekend in the northern Vermont town of Charleston.

Police suspect the bones found in a swampy, wooded area Friday and Saturday may be those of an 18-year-old Charleston youth who disappeared in July of 2006.

Detective Lt. J.P. Sinclair of the state police says it may take until later this week to learn if remains are those of Nathan Currie.

A hunter stumbled on remains including a human skull on Friday, and police searchers found more bones nearby a day later.
