Medicaid program gets infusion of cash in settlement

(Host) Vermont’s Medicaid program will get an infusion of $530,000 as part of a national settlement with a prescription drug maker.

 

Purdue Pharmaceuticals and three executives pleaded guilty earlier this year to misleading the public about the risk of addiction to the painkiller OxyContin.

 

Now the company has settled a civil case about OxyContin.

 

Vermont’s getting a share of the $634,000 national settlement.
