Martin found guilty in drunk boating trial

A Charlotte man has been found guilty of two counts of boating while intoxicated with death resulting. George Dean Martin faces up to ten years in jail and a $4,000 fine for causing the accident that killed two siblings, nine-year-old Melissa Mack and her four-year-old brother Trevor, in 2002.

Martin had pleaded innocent to the charges. An Addison County jury deliberated for seven hours and returned a guilty verdict Friday morning. Martin is free on conditions until his sentencing, which is scheduled for June 29.
