Markowitz will testify to Congress on absentee ballots

Secretary of State Deb Markowitz will be in Washington tomorrow to testify about Vermont’s experiences with voting by early or absentee ballot.

Markowitz will testify before the Elections Subcommittee of the Committee on House Administration.

She plans to discuss how her office ensures the security of absentee ballots.

Markowitz is the immediate past president of the National Association of Secretaries of State.

The congressional committee is considering proposals to amend federal election law, and to monitor congressional elections across the United States.
