State police say swimmers pulled a drowning man from the West River in Dummerston yesterday, and revived him.

The 42-year-old South Newfane man was swimming with his two daughters just before 5:00 yesterday afternoon when he became distressed.

Nearby swimmers responded to his daughter’s cries for help and pulled him from the river.

Two swimmers performed CPR and revived him.

The man was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital.

His daughters were not injured.
