A Colchester man met his goal of swimming the length of Lake Champlain on Tuesday. Thirty-six-year-old Christopher Swain arrived in Quebec shortly before 2 o’clock this afternoon. Swain set out on the 129-mile voyage about five weeks ago to raise awareness about water quality.
He says he survived lamprey attacks, high waves, boat traffic, sewage, runoff and invasive plants. He had expected to finish the trip last week but got sick and had to delay the final leg.
