Lyndon Rescue expands Kingdom coverage area

The Lyndon Rescue squad is expanding its Northeast Kingdom coverage area.

Beginning Jan. 1, Lyndon Rescue added the towns of Brighton, Norton and other areas in northern Essex County.

Lyndon Rescue Director of Operations Mark Podgewaite says the service now covers 560 square miles.

An ambulance will be stationed in Brighton.

The squad has three ambulances, six full-time responders and 19 part-time paid or volunteer members.

Lyndon Rescue also serves the towns of Burke, East Haven, Granby, Kirby, Lyndon, Newark, Sheffield, Sutton, Victory and Wheelock.
