(Host) A southern Vermont ski area that has been closed for a decade could be reopening as a four-season recreation area.

The owner of the Maple Valley Ski Area recently asked the town of Dummerston for a conditional use permit to resume operations.

The application says that in addition to skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and other winter activities, the facility could include mountain biking, hang gliding and hiking in the spring, and foliage viewing events in the autumn.

The Brattleboro Reformer says other potential opportunities include maple syrup or spring water tours, a repair shop for bicycles and other outdoor equipment and everything from antique car shows to outdoor concerts.
