Beer enthusiasts are buzzing about Vermont’s beer, and with good reason.

The craft brew world has noticed that the state better known for cheese and maple syrup happens to make world-class beer.

In fact, one brewery – Hill Farmstead in Greensboro – has been rated the world’s best brewer on a popular international consumer review website called RateBeer.com.

And that has triggered a rush of beer lovers in the guise of tourists   arriving from Boston, North Carolina and around the world sometimes waiting in line at Hill Farmstead to buy Shaun Hill’s creations.

Beer fans have also been seeking out brews by The Alchemist in Waterbury – known for its cult sensation Heady Topper – as well as Lawson’s Finest Liquids of Warren.
