Little Steps Down from Legislature

State Representative Tom Little of Shelburne is ending his career in the Vermont Legislature. Little, who’s 48, says he wants to give more time to his law practice and to his family. He has two children in college and a 17-year-old at home. He says taking four or five months off every year for his law practice has been hard on his budget.

Little was appointed to his seat by Governor Howard Dean in 1991 after the incumbent resigned. He gained broad recognition within Vermont and outside the state two years ago for his work on the civil unions law while he was chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
