A contingent from Bennington that hoped to lobby Vermont lawmakers about relocating a state office building to a location in downtown Bennington got a lukewarm reception in Montpelier.
Town officials, a developer and architects who favor the move testified to a joint session of the Senate Appropriations and Institutions committees yesterday, about a year after 135 state employees moved out of the building amid fears it was making them sick.
But lawmakers say they’re worried about the estimated $18 million price tag that could come with a new building.
