Vermont U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy has decided to delay by two days the long-awaited appearance by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Leahy made the decision yesterday, saying he wants to give Gonzales a chance to deal with the mass shootings at Virginia Tech.
Gonzales has been under fire in connection with the firings of eight federal prosecutors.
Leahy, chairman of the Judiciary Committee has rescheduled the attorney general’s appearance to Thursday.
