Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy cast his 14,000th roll call vote Wednesday.
Leahy’s office says that only six other senators have ever reached such a milestone.
And no other sitting senator, except for Sen. Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, has cast so many votes.
The senator cast his 14,000th vote on a bill to extend tax cuts for households that make under $250,000 per year. The tax cuts are scheduled to expire in December.
The bill passed, 51 to 48.
