A second Vermont priest is being sued for alleged child sexual abuse. A former Massachusetts man is filing a civil suit in Chittenden Superior Court against the Reverend George Paulin of Ludlow. The suit also names the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington. Thirty-three year old Paul Babeu of Queen Creek, Arizona alleges in his lawsuit that the incident occurred in the early 1980s when he accompanied a Massachusetts priest on a trip to Vermont.

Paulin is one of six Vermont priests placed on administrative leave by the Burlington Diocese last spring. The Attorney General’s office has been reviewing allegations against the six. So far, no criminal charges have been filed.

On Monday, a California man filed suit against the Reverend James McShane of Rutland, claiming McShane abused him as an altar boy in Saint Albans.
