Jolinda LaClair has been named deputy secretary for the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets.

LaClair is the former USDA state director for rural development in Vermont and New Hampshire. The appointment was announced yesterday.

The agency says for most of the past decade, LaClair directed over 40 community and economic development programs aimed at rural development.

She helped direct millions of dollars of support to Vermont’s rural and agricultural communities. Before that she worked for U.S. Senator Jim Jeffords on a variety of issues including agriculture.
