Killington Voters Prepare For “Major Impact” Vote

Voters in Killington have received a letter from the town’s Select Board clarifying the upcoming vote to determine whether the town should keep its Town Manager form of government.

In the letter, the petitioned article was simplified for voters to easily understand:

"Will the town vote to keep in effect the Town Manager Form of Government?"

Killington’s Select Board says how the article is voted will have a "major impact" on the town and the way it is governed.

If the town does not vote to keep a town manager, all of the responsibilities that the role involves, including supervising appointed staff and departments, managing town finances, the hiring and firing of all personnel, and overseeing all town buildings, facilities and infrastructure, will be handled by the Select Board.
