Officials at Killington ski resort say they’ll be busy making millions of dollars’ worth of improvements in the off-season.

The biggest project will be the removal of Peak Lodge from its 4,100-foot spot atop Killington Peak.

The president and general manager of Killington-Pico Ski Resort Partners, Chris Nyberg, says the 1960s-era lodge will be replaced with a smaller $7 million structure that will be the highest gondola-served restaurant and meeting space in eastern North America.

The removal project will happen this summer, but the replacement won’t be completed until December 2012.
