It looks as though Vermont Castings will be around for at least another winter.
Kentucky-based Monessen Hearth Systems acquired Vermont Casting’s parent company CFM Corp., which filed for bankruptcy protection in April.
Vermont Castings makes wood stoves at plants in Bethel and Randolph. It employs about 150 people.
Much of Vermont Castings’ work force was laid off through June because of excess inventory.
Monessen says the acquisition will ensure the Vermont Castings brand will continue.
