(Host) A Superior court judge has ordered a Democratic Party organization to pay a $10,000 fine for violating the state’s campaign finance laws.
Judge Geoffrey Crawford says the group Green Mountain Future should have known it was violating state laws when it failed to register with the state as a political committee.
State prosecutors asked the judge for a $100,000 fine for the violation.
But the judge says the violation didn’t warrant that level of penalty and ordered a lower amount.
