Senator John Campbell of Windsor County will keep his job as majority leader in the upcoming session.
Democrats have chosen Campbell to continue in the post he’s held for four years. The caucus also elected Senator Claire Ayer of Addison as assistant majority leader.
Party leaders say they believe they have a strong team.
Campbell, who lost to Peter Shumlin in a bid for Senate president, says he’s honored to be elected Majority Leader.
Democrats hold 23 of the 30 seats in the new Senate.
