New Hampshire investigators hope to have lab results from toxicology tests within two weeks, potentially shedding light on how an 11-year-old girl died.
Lead prosecutor Jane Young said Thursday she anticipates no developments in the Celina Cass case in the immediate future.
Celina was last seen at her Stewartstown home – near the borders of Canada and Vermont – the night of July 25. Her body was recovered from the Connecticut River a week later, about a quarter-mile from her home.
An autopsy failed to determine how she died. Investigators got search warrants to comb her house and family’s vehicles for clues.
More than 100 federal and state investigators joined the search for her. Young says a dozen people continue to work on the case full time.
