(Mitch Wertlieb) The Vermont Medical Society met in a closed door session Tuesday night, to further discuss a vote among its members from a few weeks ago on the question of physician assisted suicide.

The VMS had passed two resolutions – one that maintained its current position opposing any laws that either permit or ban a doctor from helping a terminally ill patient die, and another that said the Society should remain neutral on the subject.

Joining us to tell us about last night’s meeting is VMS President Dr. James O’Brien. (To hear the interview, click on the "Listen" icon.)
