Interview: Vermont Greens Break with Party to Support Nader

As Ralph Nader supporters try to get the independent presidential candidate on the ballot in Vermont, another development is taking place in Vermont’s Green Party, which was unified with the national party in backing Nader for president four years ago. This year, the National Green Party endorsed David Cobb instead, a move that apparently isn’t sitting well with the Vermont Green Party’s steering committee. A majority of that committee voted earlier this month to break with the national party and endorse a resolution to nominate Ralph Nader as the Vermont Green Party’s presidential candidate over Cobb. Mitch Wertlieb talks with Craig Chevrier, chairman of the Vermont Green Party Steering Committee, about the Party’s decision.
