Author Tinling Choong uses the Chinese creation myth as the inspiration for her debut novel, FireWife. FireWife tells the story of Nin,a fledgling photographer who leaves her corporate day job to photograph women throughout the world.

Many of these women have been marginalized by their sexuality, through prostitution and other forms of objectification. Nin’s work becomes a journey of self-discovery, as she uncovers the women of fire and the women of water.

Tinling Choong lives in Randolph. She spoke with Neal Charnoff about her book.

Choong will be appearing at the Dartmouth Bookstore, February 15th at 7.
