Interview: Sorrell criticizes cuts to state budget

When the Police Chief in Northfield was accused last month of falsifying training records for himself and other members of his department, it caught the attention of Vermont’s top law enforcement official.

Attorney General Bill Sorrell says the allegation is serious, but is being handled at the town level. Sorrell adds that the Northfield Police Chief’s alleged wrongdoings represent just one example of a case that might have been dealt with differently in another year, and under more favorable economic circumstances.
