Interview: solving the heroin problem

(Steve Delaney) Vermont Public Radio is exploring the state’s heroin problem this week. The Health Department estimates that more than 1,000 people in Vermont will seek treatment for heroin-related health problems. We’ve heard that it’s a multi-tentacled menace, imposing tragedy of the lives of users and their families, casting extra burdens on the legal and corrections system, and demanding extra resources for law enforcement, the world of social services and the medical community.
