(Mitch Wertlieb) The nation’s prolonged economic slump is taking its toll on everything from manufacturing to high tech and recent heavy job cuts like those at IBM, Vermont’s largest private employer, dominate the headlines.

But small businesses are also feeling the economic squeeze, and next week, Vermont’s small business community will have a chance to air its concerns when a representative from the National chapter of the Small Business Administration visits the state.
