(Host) This evening, the residents of Ryegate, VT will gather to look a gift horse in the mouth. The town has been offered ownership of a closed paper mill and 25 acres of land for next to nothing. But there is a catch or two.
VPR’s Steve Delaney interviews Andy Smith, who is chairman of the Ryegate Selectboard and will preside over tonight’s meeting.
(Delaney) “Mr. Smith, this is a $4.5 million property. Why isn’t it a slam dunk for the town?”
