Interview: research in the Northern Forest

Print More

The Northern Forest stretches from Maine through Vermont and New Hampshire to New York’s Adirondacks. Now, research grants totaling almost two million dollars have been identified for studying that vast forest and its communities. The idea is to develop ‘working models’ for how to balance the desires of foresters & recreation enthusiasts, with the need to maintain the ecological diversity of the region.

In Vermont, UVM’s School of Natural Resources is in the center of that study project, with Dean Donald DeHayes at the lead. Dr. DeHayes, welcome to Morning edition.
