Interview: Peter Galbraith on the status of Iraq

President Bush remains adamant that U.S. forces must stay the course in Iraq until that country can manage its own affairs, free of sectarian violence and insurgent attacks.

But a former US Ambassador who just returned from Iraq says that approach simply won’t work. Peter Galbraith was Ambassador to Croatia during the Clinton administration. He will speak about his recent Middle East visit tonight at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington.

He returned from Iraq just last week and spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about his assessment of the situation there.
