Interview: NPR’s John Burnett, “America’s Forgotten War”

Given the War on Terror declared after the world-altering 9-11 attacks, it may be understandable that another war declared by the U.S. Government some 30 years ago has faded from the headlines.

But the war on drugs is still being fought. And starting today during All Things Considered NPR news will present a week-long series of reports called America’s Forgotten War.

NPR correspondent John Burnett spoke with VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb about the reports and says the investigation reveals a mixed level of success and failure. But he says some progress has been made.
