Interview: Nancy Price-Graff, Depression era photo exhibit

A collection of stark, heartbreaking, evocative photographs of Vermont farmers during the depression era will be shown tonight in Burlington.

The pictures are contained in the book “Looking Back at Vermont: Farm Security Administration Photographs, 1936 to 1942”.

The photos were collected by Nancy Price-Graff, who says although they were ostensibly taken to conduct a survey project ordered by then-President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, they served a broader public relations agenda:
