Interview: Molly Lambert nominated to head USDA Rural Development

VPR has been tracking the federal stimulus money making its way to Vermont, in an effort to find out where those funds are going and just who they can help.

Today we hear from one of the people who hopes to facilitate the process for people in small, rural communities. Molly Lambert has been nominated by Senator Patrick Leahy to be the USDA’s State Director for Rural Development for Vermont and New Hampshire.

Lambert says the program she’s eager to oversee has a specific mission increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life in the region’s smaller, more remote communities.
