It was 25 years ago on December 1st that the first Eye on The Sky broadcast was heard on Vermont Public Radio. The idea behind Eye on the Sky was to provide a more comprehensive view of the region’s complex weather events, to put them in context and to find specific areas where listeners might be affected in very different ways by storm patterns and weather systems.

VPR looked back into the archives for early listener comments about Eye on the Sky. We found one from author, E. Annie Proulx and asked VPR producer, Betty Smith to read it. And VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb spoke with meteorologist Mark Breen about the early days of the broadcast.
