A new book by Jeremy Scahill documents the rise of a private army based in North Carolina, and its involvement with what is known as the Global War on Terror.
The book is called “Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army.”
Jeremy Scahill is a freelance journalist who has been a contributor to The Nation magazine and the program Democracy Now.
Scahill is in Vermont this weekend speaking at a number of events. He spoke with VPR’s Neal Charnoff about his book.
