How would the United States react if it is eclipsed as the world’s foremost superpower by China? That is the central question driving a summer lecture series that begins today at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

Harm de Blij, an author and professor who specializes in the field of geography and has worked as an analyst for NBC News. His most recent book is called “Why Geography Matters” and he will be the keynote speaker at Dartmouth today. He spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about China’s ability to become a superpower and its implications to the United States.
