Someone dies every 30 minutes because they don’t have health insurance.

That estimate comes from the non-profit Institute of Medicine, which advises the federal government on health care issues.

And the number of Americans without health insurance is currently around 46 million.

Those figures are prompting action by the American Academy of Family Physicians. They’re in Washington DC today rallying for health care reform. The physicians have come from all over the country. Dr. Paul Reiss, is one of those doctors and he spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the rally.
