Think of the major hot-button issues being discussed in this election year: Gas prices, the housing crisis, the war in Iraq.

Dr. Larry Brown agrees these are all serious problems that need to be confronted. But Brown says there is an invisible epidemic in America not getting much press — hunger.

The Director of the National Center on Hunger and Poverty will talk about the causes of hunger and what can be done to solve the problem, and he says it is solvable, when he speaks tomorrow night at St. Michael’s College.

Brown says the first thing to understand is that even in the world’s richest democracy, hunger is real and widespread.
