It’s the first general statement condemning anti-press policies by a Presidential administration in 30 years. At a meeting last week of the Association for Journalism Educators in San Francisco members of the 4th estate passed a resolution outlining what they say are a series of actions by the Bush administration designed to restrict the flow of information.

The resolution was authored by David Mindich, who chairs the Journalism and Mass Communications department at St. Michael’s College. He spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the resolution and said the document names ten specific examples of how the Bush administration hinders and manipulates the press.
