Interview: Colonel Robert Rooks

For the past 30 years Lieutenant Robert Rooks has been part of the state’s Fish and Wildlife law enforcement department. And over the years he’s attained the post of Chief Game Warden.

And today Rooks is marking his final day in the office, as he heads into retirement. Rooks says he’s always loved the outdoors, and working in fish and wildlife was a dream. After serving in the Navy, Rooks studied wildlife biology at UVM. He says the day he passed the test to become a game warden was the best of his young life, even if the job became more difficult after that after that.
