(Mitch Wertlieb) The Catholic Church in Vermont has agreed to pay unspecified monetary damages to Paul Babeu, a 34-year old man now living in Arizona. Babeau claims he was abused by a Ludlow pastor 19 years ago while visiting the Northeast Kingdom during a school vacation.

The settlement means Babeu will drop his court case against the church, but this is just the first of several lawsuits accusing Vermont priests of child sexual abuse. Joining us on the line is Thomas Bixby, a Brattleboro attorney who represents Paul Babeu. Mr. Bixby thanks for speaking with us.
