From time to time here on Morning Edition, we like to check in with the folks from Vermont’s enthusiastic birding community to find out if any unusual or unexpected feathered friends have dropped by for a visit.

That was the case recently when a wheatear was spotted on the causeway in Colchester by Carl Pinkham, who teaches Biology at Norwich University. He recently spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the sighting.
