(Host) Today is President’s Day, and the holiday has taken on a little extra meaning this year as the nation celebrates the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln. One well-known Vermont author is getting into the act, examining Lincoln’s life in a very unusual way.

Harry Mazer lives in Montpelier and is an award-winning author of numerous books for young readers. He’s also a World War II veteran best known for his "Boy at War" trilogy. Mazer’s latest book is called "My Brother Abe" and takes a look at Lincoln’s life through the eyes of his only sibling, his older sister Sarah, bettern known as Sally.

The novel is told from Sally’s point of view, and focuses on the early life of the young Lincolns growing up in Kentucky, and later Indiana.

Mazer says he wanted help young readers understand what the early years of struggle were like for a president that he, like most Americans, greatly admires.
